More found photos of life in Taiwan, back in the day
I hope everyone is enjoying the end of the year! The last week was a busy one for me... and I just came down with a cold (boo), so this is just a quick post of more vintage photos found here in Taipei.
i wonder if mini skirts/dresses will ever return. granted, mini skirts have made a come back of sorts, but nothing like the mini skirts from the 1960's. great photos, catherine.
wishing you a speedy recovery and a very happy new year!
Happy holidays Catherine! These photos are great. The omnipresent shyness in all of these old photos is something our generation and future generation will never really have, huh? The girl in the sequined dress is inspiring me to don a similar outfit to karaoke this Saturday! love, Jenny
Andy-I got these photos from a cool secondhand store near Guting Station... here's an article I wrote about them (address & phone info is inside): http://www.taipeitimes.com/images/2009/11/12/TT-981112-P13-IB.pdf
I hope you get better soon! I just recovered from a cold today XDD Btw, love the third picture XDD I've always wondered where these people are and how they look like now-- do they even know that past pictures of theirs are being sold?
what great photos! and thank you for your comment the other day! (this is so funny that you use a bean metaphor because my boyfriend always calls my blog the "bean sprout"--what a coincidence!).

Where did you find these photos? They're fantastic! Are you visiting some interesting store that's overflowing with these kinds of vintage things?
ReplyDelete(I've lived in Taiwan for a few years and read your blog off-and-on since I arrived. I like it a great deal. You help make Taiwan even more fun!)
